Our commitment

At ISPNO 2028 in Utrecht we feel a profound responsibility towards the world we leave for future generations. Sustainability is, therefore, a core value of this symposium.
In collaboration with our partners ans suppliers, we are committed to minimising the environmental footprint of this conference. We actively encourage our delegates to make conscious choices, whether regarding travel, accommodation, or the resources used throughout the conference.

ISPNO strongly encourages attendees and exhibitors to:

  • travel by train, bus, metro, or bicycle to and within Utrecht when possible
  • bring a reusable water bottle
  • use the online version of the programme, rather than printing it
  • avoid distributing printed materials such as flyers
  • reduce waste and avoid single-use items wherever possible
  • separate waste

These small actions help reduce the environmental footprint of the conference and contribute to a more responsible event experience.

In addition, participants are asked during registration how far and by which means of transport they travel to the conference, in order to calculate total emissions.

Next to that, ISPNO 2028’s Conference Secretariat, Congress by design, is a Professional Conference Organiser committed to long-term sustainable growth. Their ambition is to organise all conferences 100% climate-neutral by 2030, through continuous CO₂ reduction and offsetting via certified reforestation projects. Sustainability at our venues

Jaarbeurs aspires to be the most innovative and sustainable convention centre in Europe. With 2.3 million annual visitors, they are dedicated to making a positive impact on both our community and the environment.

To reduce single-use plastic waste, they install innovative water taps throughout the Beatrix Building. We kindly invite all delegates to bring their own reusable water bottles. Together, we can significantly decrease plastic pollution while staying hydrated during the symposium.

Accessibility
More than two million people with disabilities live in the Netherlands. We think it is important that everyone, regardless of their disability, can participate in the events we organise and facilitate and can work for us. That is why we are committed to making our events and buildings accessible to as many people as possible.
